On Thursday evening, cadets from Gloucester were invited to join 186 Newent Squadron and Newent’s BMFA Model Flying Club flying their model aircraft equipped with Virtual Reality headsets, and ‘buddy box’ controls.
On Tuesday, cadets from Gloucester, Dowty, Newent, and Tewkesbury squadron’s were taken flying in the RAFs Grob Tutor at MoD St Athan. With clear skies throughout the day, the cadets were able to fly up-to their fourth sortie, allowing some of the cadets to experience more advanced manoeuvres such as stall-turns, loops, and barrel rolls.
On Sunday, the annual Wing Athletics was held at Blackbridge Jubilee Athletics Track in Gloucester. 181 cadets placed 3rd overall in the girls junior class, and took home a total of 7 medals, as well as placing for regional Athletics events in the coming weeks.
