Parents were invited to 181 squadron on Wednesday for our annual open evening and awards presentation ceremony. The cadets had a chance to show parents what 181 have been doing over the last year, and put on show rooms to display our new radio set-up and flight simulator, a practical exercise on the Enigma machine, following our visit to Bletchley Park earlier in the year. The cadets also put on practical first aid demonstrations as well as leadership and initiative exercises.

Special mention to Cadet Madurusinghe for being made 181’s best cadet for 2018. She is always quick to put her name down for any cadet event, and is a fantastic advocate of the squadron.

Lightning flight has been knocked off the top spot this year by Javelin flight, who managed to beat their score by a margin of 80 points!

Further congratulations to Cdt’s Carpenter and Jayakumar for being awarded their first class certificates.
